If 2024 was a colour, it would probably be red or burgundy. If you’re not bold enough to wear a red total look, simply adding a red handbag and keeping the rest of your outfit neutral (like a white t-shirt, blue flared jeans, and black cowboy boots) can make a stylish statement.
In terms of prints, snakeskin and leopard are definitely in. You would be surprised at how versatile they are. Both prints have neutral shades as their base, giving you a wide range of options to play with. Personally, I love incorporating this print into shoes and accessories, or even a coat.
Another trend worth mentioning is transparent fabrics. While stunning on the catwalk, they can also be adapted for real-life situations. For example, match a pair of jeans with a sheer blouse and a tank top underneath. I particularly loved Prada’s midi dresses with opaque lining and a translucent upper layer.
Sportchic is another great wearable trend. Simply add a sporty element to your everyday casual or elegant look, and voila. This sporty element can be anything, from trainers to a baseball cap to joggers. Personally, I would opt for a hoodie paired with an elegant or dressy midi skirt. It’s all about creating contrasts and incorporating opposite textures.
Micro shorts are a huge trend in 2024, although they may not be my favorite as they are hardly wearable in real life. One option to make them less revealing is to add a smart blazer or a longer coat. To create a sexy librarian look, grab a pair of frames to go with this outfit.
From less wearable to extremely versatile, 2024 is also all about monochromatic total looks. And they don’t always have to be in red or burgundy, neutrals like white and cream are also welcome. Lighter colored outfits are very much in right now. I love the fact that despite being a trend, it’s also elegant and timeless. I would definitely recommend investing in an impeccably tailored white suit in wool or linen.
Metallics never seem to go out of fashion. Adding silver or gold accents can instantly elevate any look and make it much cooler. You’ll be surprised at how versatile a silver handbag can be. It can serve as the pièce de résistance of an outfit and looks good with many different colors, prints, and textures. If you’re feeling brave, don’t be afraid to pair silver with gold.
Just like metallics, the 90s trend is here to stay. Look out for camel pencil skirts, top-notch gray tailoring, white shirts, boyfriend jeans, exaggerated shoulders, and statement jewelry. Again, this trend is wearable and can be mixed with other trends and basics.
One of my favorite trends for 2024 is fringe – whether it’s in dresses, skirts, or tops. You can wear it on its own or on top of your favorite jeans. It can be dressed up or down and adds a stunning dynamic to even the most minimalist ensemble.
Keeping up with trends is important, but what’s even more important is adapting them to your own style, your aesthetics and personality.
